Accessibility
We want every page to work with a keyboard, a screen reader and low vision. This is what we have checked, and what we have not.
What we tested
- Keyboard: every link, the search fields, the search tabs and filters, and the numbered parts on a garment photo can be reached with Tab, in order, with a visible outline.
- Contrast: text measures 10 to 1 against the background, secondary text 5.1 to 1, and links on hover 5.1 to 1. The standard asks for 4.5 to 1.
- Structure: one main heading per page, headings in order, a label on every search field, and the page language set to English.
- Status marks: each part of a garment says its status in a word. The mark beside it also differs in shape, so color is never the only signal.
- Photos: the photo on a garment page is described by the garment’s name and maker. In lists, the name beside each photo is the link text, so the photo itself is not read twice.
We tested these with automated checks in a browser at desktop and phone sizes on October 28, 2026.
What is still not right
- No person has yet tested the site with a screen reader such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS.
- Photo descriptions name the garment but do not describe its color or cut.
- Search and compare work in the browser, so they need JavaScript. Every other page works without it.
- On a phone, the comparison table scrolls sideways.
